Jerry  Allen  Otterstad
     Jerry Allen Otterstad, 75, of Willow Island died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017 in Bellevue. He was born Aug. 27, 1941 in Joice, Iowa, son of Norris and Ida (Helegeson) Otterstad.
     Jerry grew up in the Joice area and graduated from Joice High School.
     Jerry married Diann Wirtjes on Aug. 28, 1966 at Elk Creek Lutheran Church in rural Kensett, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Tammy, Travis and Tarah.
     They farmed and fed cattle in Joice until they purchased a feedlot near Cozad in 1971.
     Jerry enjoyed professional basketball especially the Lakers and Magic Johnson and the Cavs and Lebron James.
     He had a love for cattle, he enjoyed show cattle and visiting with the people in the show cattle business. He loved raising and feeding cattle.
     He is survived by his son, Travis (Jill) of Tuttle, Okla.; daughters, Tammy (Joe) Martinez of Tampa, Fla. and Tarah (Rene) Takougnadi of Papillion; grandsons, Zachary, Jared, and Justin Martinez of Tampa and Didier Takougnadi of Papillion; and step granddaughter Tiffani Pruitt of Tuttle.
     Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Diann in 2015; and parents.
     Funeral services were held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg, which was in charge of arrangements, on Aug. 5 with Pastor James McCrickard officiating. Burial followed in the Cozad Cemetery.
