The North Platte St. Pat's girls' cross country team won the Chase County Invite on Friday.The Lady Irish held off the host team, Chase County, for first place with both teams having a score of 38. But St. Pat's won with a faster combined time than the Longhorns.
St. Pat's was led by Kelsey Folchert and Genna Blakeley, who finished eighth and ninth, respectively. Folchert had a time of 22:02.60 and Blakeley came in at 22:20.40.
Gracie Rippen also finished 11th for the Irish. The other two runners on the team, Libby Calhoun and Ashley Dye, were 29th and 30th.
The Hershey girls finished in sixth place but the school's best performance was from the junior varsity. Bailie Vanarsdall finished fifth in the meet with a time of 21:41.90.
Two other Lincoln County schools didn't have enough runners to score as a team but Morgan Burke finished 12th for Sutherland and Hannah Robertson was 13th for Wallace.
The individual champion for the girls was Sable Lambley of Dundy County-Stratton.
Perkins County won the boys' race. St. Pat's was seventh with Logan O'Malley coming in 12th place.
Hershey was eighth and they were led by Blake Bruns and Austin George, who finished 23rd and 24th, respectively.
Joe Fischer was 11th individually to lead Sutherland to a ninth place finish in the team standings.
