Eagle scouts help St. Pat's schoolTell North Platte what you think

The North Platte Catholic Schools Superintendent Kevin Dodson reported a successful first day of school when the board of education met Tuesday.

Dodson informed the board that a final report on school enrollment will be presented at the September meeting.

The board noted several improvement projects that took place over the summer and recognized the hard work of many school volunteers.

New lockers were installed at St. Patrick’s High School with the assistance of Eagle Scout candidate Ethan Munson.

Fellow Scout Mick Ekdahl is also working toward his Eagle honors with a project to install ground cover on the new playground at McDaid Elementary. Playground construction took place at the beginning of August, as a “community build” project involving school families and alumni.

The playground should be completed by the end of the month.

The next board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 19 in the St. Patrick’s High library.
