Family fishing night in North PlatteTell North Platte what you think

A family fishing night will be held from 6-8 p.m. in North Platte on Friday, Aug. 4 at Iron Horse Lake.

The public is invited to attend, regardless of age or skill.

Maybe you don’t know where to start as an angler or maybe you haven’t fished for a while and would like to get started again.

Anyone can come and learn to fish, so bring kids, friends and family. Staff members of the Nebraska Game and Parks will be on hand to help, and loaner equipment and bait will be available.

Fishing permits are required for ages 16 and older who wish to fish. Permits are available online at outdoornebraska.com, at the North Platte District Game and Parks office, and at local vendors.

Iron Horse Lake is in North Platte, just southeast of the interchange of I-80 and U.S. Highway 83. The lake is adjacent to the 20th Century Veteran’s Memorial.
