A three-car wreck Tuesday afternoon at the busy intersection of Fourth and Willlow put a North Platte man in the hospital.

The collision occurred around 1:30 p.m.

The injured man, Tyler Dukes, 21, reportedly ran a red light in a 2008 F-150 pickup, and was t-boned by a pickup that had a green light.

Dukes’ pickup then hit an car that was sitting there, waiting for the light to change.

Dukes suffered a visible injury to his back, according to the police report.

Police said Dukes was driving west when he ran the light. As he moved into the intersection, his pickup was hit by a southbound Nissan pickup driven by Rod Murrain, 64.

The impact of the collision knocked Dukes’ pickup into the opposite lane, into a Chevy Impala driven by Steven Thompson, Jr., 35.

Dukes’ pickup then rolled over on the driver’s side from the impact and slid west on the pavement, the police report said.

Police said Dukes admitted to a bystander that he ran the light.

Murrain had a visible chest injury, but declined transport to the hospital.

Both pickups were totaled and Thompson’s Impala sustained an estimated $5,000 in damages, according to the report.

No citations were issued at the scene. All three drivers were wearing seat belts. There was no evidence that drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, the police report said.
