Finished

Andrew Freeze finished sprucing up an ornamental flag made of bricks just in time for Independence Day.

Three years ago, as a member of Troop #287, Freeze spearheaded the construction of the flag at Cody Park during an Eagle Scout project.

Troop 287 has since disbanded and the flag fell into the need of repair.

Freeze recently decided he would give it a fresh coat of paint, but as such projects go, he also found other repairs were needed -- the landscaping brick that surrounds the flag was loose, and a plaque was missing as well.

On a break from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Freeze worked through the weekend on repairs, finishing just in time for everyone in the park to enjoy the flag during the weekend.

The flag sits along the path between the east parking lot and the children’s playground.

This time, Freeze also added a painted rock to the site.
