Tyree Carney

The FBI and Omaha area law officers are asking for help in finding Tyree Carney, a suspect in armed bank robberies in Iowa and Nebraska.

Carney should be considered armed and dangerous, FBI spokesman Huston Pullen said in a news release Friday evening.

Carney is 5’ 11” tall and weighs 235 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He might be driving a stolen 2004 tan or gold Honda Accord sedan, with Nebraska license plate UNP290, the FBI said.

If seen please do not try to apprehend; call 911.

Most recently, Carney is suspected of robbing a bank on June 12 in the small town of Underwood, Iowa. On March 25, he allegedly hit a bank in Murray, Neb.; and last year -- a bank in Crescent, Iowa on Nov. 15 and a bank in Springfield, Neb. on Sept. 23.

The banks are in the same general area, within about 50 miles of each other.

The Omaha Police Department and the Pottawattamie County Sherriff’s Office are seeking information, in cooperation with the FBI and members of the FBI Greater Omaha Bank Robbery Task Force, Pullen said.
