A sport utility vehicle ran off Francis St. and went through a fence around 6:10 p.m. Friday, just north across the street from the little league ball fields.

The SUV was westbound at what seemed a high rate of speed, a witness told the Bulletin. The driver, Anthony J. Hewgley, 38, lost control and rolled through the fence of Adams Middle School. Hewgley was the sole occupant. He blacked out due to ongoing medical issues, the police report said.

He hit a street sign with a 2004 Jeep Liberty and drove through the chain link fence before coming to a stop. Witnesses told police he appeared to be having a seizure and continued to accelerate after he left the street. Hewgley told police he did not remember going off the street or hitting the fence. The Jeep was totaled, police said.

Hewgley  eventually got out of the SUV on his own, a witness told the Bulletin.
