A North Platte man was arrested Thursday with a woman he allegedly assaulted in April, earning him charges for three felonies.

Cody Ly, 27, is held on a bonds totaling $75,000.

The assault charge began on April 15 at 8:08 p.m., when officers responded to the 1100 block of So. Tabor to check out a prior domestic disturbance, police spokesman John Deal said.

Officers met a 32-year-old woman who said Ly, her former boyfriend, assaulted her.

She said that Ly did not live with her, although she arrived home and found him there. She told Ly made some accusations and eventually placed both hands around her neck and cut off her breathing. And, she said he punched her in the head several times, according to the police report.

Police said the woman had minor injuries that supported her version of events.

Deal said Ly was unable to be found at that time, so a warrant was issued for his arrest.

At 6:04 p.m. Thursday, police received a report that Ly was again in the house on S. Tabor. They arrested him without further incident.

Deal said police determined that the victim allowed Ly to stay there. Nevertheless, he was charged, arrested and taken to jail.  He is charged with strangulation, terroristic threats and domestic assault, according to sheriff’s records.

Ben K. Clark: Meth, related felonies

Also, Benjamin K. Clark was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with a bundle of crimes after he flunked out of drug court.

Police said Clark, 24, was charged late last year after a cooperative (CODE) law enforcement investigation. He was convicted on May 22 and assigned to enter the drug court rehabilitation program.

The next day, he failed to report to the drug court supervisor. He has failed to meet drug court requirements more than once this year.

Police searched and found Clark Thursday afternoon at a home in the 2200 block of W. Fifth, after receiving information as to his whereabouts, Deal said.

Clark was taken to jail and held without bond pending a court date.

Apparently, the law is no longer going to give Clark a break. He is also charged with possession of heroin and xanax, intent to distribute meth, assault, violating the terms of his bond, failure to appear, contempt of court, trespassing, disturbing the peace and being fugitive from justice, among other charges, according to sheriff’s records.
