• Holiday Inn Express (300 Holiday Frontage Rd) - Grape and Sizzle, promoting Nebraska beef & raising funds to help non-profit agencies within the community. 5:30-8 p.m.


Saturday, June 3

• Platte River Mall (1000 S. Dewey) - North Platte Farmer’s Market. West parking lot. 7:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

• River’s Edge Golf Course (1008 W. 18th) - Red Shield Classic Golf Tournament, 7:30 a.m. registration; 9 a.m. tee off. slots open. Call Bob at 308-530-1068 or Doug 308-520-9649.

• Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park - Guided tours of the house, barn & grounds. No charge, but call (308) 535-8035 to make arrangements. 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

• Cody Park (1400 N. Jeffers St) - Guardians of the Children Flatrock Poker Run. Clutches out 11 a.m. $15 per person, $20 couple. Stops in Tryon; Mullen; Thedford (buffet lunch); Halsey, Arnold; North Platte.

 • The Sports Shoppe-Big Red Etc. (1320 S Cottonwood) -  Rib fundraiser to purchase school clothing for North Platte children, K-12. Noon–5 p.m. Order frozen or ready to eat ribs. Call 308-530-0441 for order forms.

• Lincoln County Raceway (5105 W. Highway 30) - Race day, gates open at 4 p.m. Hot Laps 5:30 p.m., green flag drops 6:30 p.m. Admission $10; kids (6-12) $5; kids (5 & under) Free; Pit Pass $25, 4–8 p.m.


Sunday, June 4

• Platte River Mall (1000 S. Dewey) - Miss Nebraska pageant opening ceremonies, 1:30 p.m. Meet the contestants at 2:30 p.m. Autograph signing.


Wednesday, June 7

• North Platte High Performing Arts Center ( 1220 W. 2nd) - Miss Nebraska pageant. Preliminary night. 7-9 p.m. $20.


Thursday, June 8

• North Platte High – Miss Nebraska 2nd preliminary night. 7 p.m. $20


Friday, June 9

• Quality Inn & Suites - 7 p.m. Miss Nebraska 80th anniversary gala. Limited seats.

• Espresso Shop (near Fifth and Dewey downtown) – Open Mic Nite. Freewill donation. Refreshments on sale. 7-9:30 p.m.


Saturday, June 10

• Platte River Mall (1000 S. Dewey) - North Platte Farmer’s Market. West parking lot. 7:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

• Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park - Guided Tours at Scouts Rest Ranch, guided tours of the house, barn & grounds. Call (308) 535-8035 to make arrangements. 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

• Lake Maloney Golf Course - Bob Spady Memorial Golf Tournament. Starts 8:30 a.m.

• Lincoln County Historical Museum (2403 N. Buffalo Bill Ave) - Heritage Festival, Entertainment, living history re-enactments, ethnic. 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

• Downtown North Platte - Honky Tonk BBQ Festival, featuring local entertainment, a beer garden, VIP area, children’s interactive area & a Chill Zone. 11 a.m.- 5 p.m.

• North Platte High - Final night of the Miss Nebraska pageant. Starts 6:30 p.m. $30.


Sunday, June 11

• Lincoln County Historical Museum (2403 N. Buffalo Bill Ave.) - Heritage Festival, Entertainment, living history re-enactments, ethnic. Noon–4 p.m.
