The annual Heritage Festival will be held June 9-11 at the Lincoln County Historical Museum.The festival begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 9 when the municipal band will play in concert.
Events get underway at 10 a.m. Saturday with a dog show, followed by a church service and music by the Gospel Lites. Sandhills storyteller and poet R.P. Smith will perform at noon.
Afternoon events include a portrayal of Kate Manning. old fashioned hay baling and corn shucking, a petting zoo, prairie pioneer games and school house activities.
There will be an antique tractor parade, a cowboy fast draw competition and demonstrations of blacksmithing, spinning and weaving, plus music by the Flatrock Irregulars and John and George.
On Sunday, events begin at noon with cowboy church, a beard contest, tractor rodeo and a hot dog eating contest. The day ends at 4 p.m.
