Local performer and high school teacher Brittany McDaniel is directing a production of Motherhood Out Loud in conjunction with the completion of her master’s degree.The 90-minute production will take place at 7 p.m. at the Prairie Arts Center on June 2-3.
In Motherhood Out Loud, McDaniel and five other performers, including Jay and Sam Elliott, Justin Morgan, Traci Sawyer, and Sarah Snively, present a series of short scenes and monologues about the joys and struggles of motherhood.
Audiences can expect to laugh, cry, and relate to everyone in the production. Whether you are still sleeping beside the crib, getting ready to have “the talk with your teen, or coping with having a child away at college or the military, this show is for you".
Created by Susan R. Rose and written by Leslie Ayvazian, David Cale, Jessica Goldberg, Beth Henley, Lameece Issaq, Claire LaZebnik, Lisa Loomer, Michele Lowe, Marco Pennette, Theresa Rebeck, Luanne Rice, Annie Weisman, L. West and Brooke Berman, Motherhood Out Loud first hit the Broadway stage in 2011 and has since experienced an incredible cult following on the regional and community theatre circuits.
Anyone who is a mom or has a mom will enjoy this epic journey from birth to adulthood, McDaniel said.
