As of late Thursday, three more men have been charged with meth distribution in Nebraska, following a coordinated crack-down by law agencies across the state.

The arrests began Monday with four men in Lincoln and Omaha.

Twelve more were arrested Tuesday in western Nebraska and eastern Colorado.

Ogallala resident Roberto Cervantes-Zavala, 113 W. 24th St., was arrested late Tuesday. His indictment was unsealed Wednesday and his name was announced then by the U.S. Attorney’s office in Omaha.

Cervantes-Zavala is charged with conspiracy to distribute meth as well as possession with intent to deliver. If convicted, he faces 40 years imprisonment and a $5 million fine. He is the 12th such arrest in western Nebraska in the area from North Platte to Wray, Colo.

A 13th person, Reynaldo Moreno-Anaya, 35, is also charged in that investigation, but he is believed to be in Mexico, the U.S. Attorney’s office said Thursday.

Moreno-Anaya’s last known address was 521 Emerson St. in Wray.

Another arrest occurred Thursday, that of a Doniphan man, Michael Shirley, 55.

Shirley is charged with two counts of distribution of methamphetamine in September, the U.S. Attorney’s office said. If convicted, he also faces 40 years imprisonment and a $5 million fine

The investigation of Shirley was conducted by the Central Nebraska Drug and Safe Streets Task Force.
