Now that the tax season is over, it is time to thank all those who made the AARP Tax-Aide program possible for another year. The dedicated volunteers who donated numerous hours helped more than 350 clients and their families complete their taxes.
These individuals worked without any compensation other than the knowledge that they provided a much needed service to our community.
The staff at the North Platte Public Library for providing the space and computer capacity needed to offer this service. They have done this for more years that any of us can remember. They are a real special group of public employees.
The staff at the McKinley Education Center for allowing us to do our training in their facility. This was certainly a wonderful location and we really appreciated all the help that was provided.
The North Platte Bulletin and the North Platte Telegraph for all the articles and reminders throughout the tax season of our location at the library and what we needed to do the tax returns; KNOP television for allowing me to appear and provide information on air, and finally all the merchants who provided us with space to place posters, advising of our location and service.
All of you who supported this program should be proud of what it means to those who need this service.
Again, thank you and we hope we will be able to do this again next year.
