A woman who overcame two extraordinary tragedies to find peace, purpose and happiness will speak in North Platte on Tuesday, April 11.

Allison Massari will give a Town Hall Lecture at 10:30 a.m. at the North Platte Community Playhouse.

Her talk is co-sponsored by Great Plains Health.

In 1998, Massari survived a 60 mile-per-hour car crash, in which she was trapped and burned alive, although she remained conscious the entire time. Three years later, Massari was hit again, sustaining a closed-head brain injury.

She credits her determination and love of family and friends for her full recovery. She sees her experiences as tremendous gifts that allowed her to find strength, to take charge of her beliefs and live life by her own rules.

Her story is more than just one of survival. It is one of resilience, courage and rigorous pursuit of hope, organizers say.

Her story is also about collaboration among teams of medical personnel and how their kindness, determination and compassion changed her life and built a foundation for healing.

Massari’s experiences are featured in the documentary, “ReSolve,” acclaimed for its powerful message and its focus on solutions to post-traumatic stress and overcoming challenges.

Massari has been voted as the “No.1 Rising Star in Speaking” by the National Speakers Association and hailed as one of the Top 10 best motivational speakers in the U.S. by “Meetings & Conventions” magazine.

Admission is available through a membership in the lecture series. Memberships can be purchased at the door, by calling Betty Guynan at (308) 530-8448 or by visiting http://www.nptownhall.com.

The presentation will be followed by a luncheon at the Quality Inn and Suites, with a question and answer session with Massari.

All luncheon attendees must be season ticket holders. The cost of the meal is $15.50. Reservations must be received by Tuesday, April 4.
