The Nebraska State Patrol is seeking assistance finding the man in the pictures, who is wanted for questioning in the investigation of the death of John Fratis, 25, on Tuesday morning in Ogallala.

Fratis was found dead at 914 N. Spruce St. in Ogallala, Lt. Tim Arnold of the Nebraska State Patrol said.

Arnold said the man wanted for questioning left the Ogallala area in a late-model gold Surburban on Tuesday. The Surburban had a broken rear side window that was covered with plywood.

The Surburban was later returned to the Ogallala without the wanted man. Law officers hope someone might have seen him.

“If someone saw him getting in or out of a gold Surburban with a broken window covered with plywood, they should call us. We really need the public’s help in finding this man,” Arnold said.

NSP spokesman Mike Meyers said Tuesday night that the man is believed to be in southwestern Nebraska or northeastern Colorado.

If seen, contact law enforcement immediately. Contact Nebraska State Patrol dispatch at 308-535-8047, or call 911 with any information.

Please do not approach or contact the subject, Meyers said.
