A North Platte man was arrested over the weekend for a spate of vandalism and criminal mischief, according to police. Aaron Fisher, 24, is charged with theft, two counts of attempted theft, and five counts of criminal mischief. A North Platte Police spokesperson said they received several calls reporting damaged property the morning of Feb. 7, and that the crimes occured the night before. The spokesperson said someone damaged mailboxes along with damaging and breaking into automobiles in a neighborhood on North Platte’s north side. The investigation led the police to Fisher, whose shoeprints matched those found at scenes of the crimes. Fisher was detained, interviewed, and arrested, according to police. No other arrests have been made, but the spokesperson said police suspect there may have been another person involved. All of the charges against Fisher are misdemeanors, the spokesperson stated. Fisher was jailed and posted bond.
